Planning for MBA Entrance Tests 2026? Start from 1 June.
MBA prep is not just about CAT. It includes exams, forms, mocks, shortlists, and finally GD, WAT, PI.
June: Build the base
Focus on fundamentals:
• Arithmetic
• Reading comprehension
• Grammar and verbal logic
• DI-LR
• Algebra and geometry basics
Avoid too many mocks initially. Build accuracy first.
July: Strengthen concepts
Start timed practice and light prep for:
• XAT Decision Making
• NMAT speed questions
• SNAP reasoning
• Current affairs
Also prepare your MBA profile: academics, internships, work experience, achievements, hobbies, strengths, weaknesses, and goals.
August: Mock-test phase
Most forms open around now.
From August:
• Take 1 mock weekly
• Analyse every mock
• Identify weak areas
• Fill forms carefully
• Build a realistic college list
Mock analysis matters more than scores.
September: Focus on performance
Work on:
• Time management
• Question selection
• Accuracy
• Reducing silly mistakes
Target: 2 mocks weekly with analysis.
Track CAT, NMAT, SNAP, XAT, MICAT, and CMAT deadlines.
October: Refine
Focus on:
• Full mocks
• Sectionals
• Revision notes
• Formula sheets
• Reading discipline
Schedule NMAT smartly.
November: Peak phase
CAT and NMAT usually happen now.
Focus on:
• Revision
• Mock strategy
• Sleep schedule
• Exam routine
In the final days, focus on ex*****on, not learning new topics.
December: Shift gears
Prepare for:
• SNAP
• XAT
• NMAT retakes
• GK and current affairs
• WAT and PI basics
Do not lose momentum after CAT.
January to April: Interviews and GWPI
Prepare for:
• PI
• WAT/GD
• Academics
• HR questions
• Career goals
• Mock interviews
• SOP and work-ex questions
• Current affairs
Percentile gets the call. Interviews convert it.

December–April: prepare for selection.
