Earlier this week, Re-emerging World had the privilege of co-facilitating a capacity-building workshop with Swayam Shikshan Prayog - SSP for its partner network advancing Women-led Climate Resilient Farming across India.
Partners explored the model’s design principles, farming process mapping, and implementation strategies in an interactive classroom setting, followed by a field visit to witness adoption journeys firsthand. The workshop concluded with hands-on planning sessions where participants charted how they will replicate the model in their own geographies.
Together, we are building pathways to scale sustainable, women-led farming practices nationwide.

Over the past decade, rural India has transformed access to toilets, dignity, and hygiene. But true sanitation goes far beyond constructing facilities.It lies in ensuring what happens after each toilet is used is safe for people, workers, and the environment.

Across thousands of villages, the next big leap in public health now depends on how communities manage, transport, treat, and repurpose f***l waste. Without safe systems, the risks return: contaminated water, unsafe manual labour, and recurring disease burdens that most affect the poor. When waste is handled safely from start to finish, entire communities move toward healthier, more resilient, and more equitable living conditions.

At Re-emerging World, we believe that safe sanitation goes beyond infrastructure, it requires systems, awareness, partnerships, and behaviour change. Strengthening FSM is the critical next step for ensuring long-term health, environmental safety, and dignified livelihoods across rural India.

This World Toilet Day, we reaffirm our commitment to supporting state-led strategies, citizen awareness, private sector engagement, decentralized FSTP models, and climate-positive waste-to-value solutions that ensure every toilet built is a toilet safely managed.
