Today, fonearena reports the Galaxy Trend Duos went on sale via multiple authorized resellers across the country for only Rs 8,490 ($135/€100) outright.

The smartphone is delivered with an older version of Jelly Bean, Android 4.1, and is unlikely to get an upgrade anytime soon.


The good news is Galaxy Trend Duos offers dual-SIM support, as suggested by its name. It also sports a 4-inch WVGA capacitive touchscreen display that supports 800 x 480 pixels resolution, as well as mediocre 3-megapixel rear camera with video recording capabilities.

Samsung Galaxy Trend Duos is meant to attract more Indian customers who are looking for a cheap, dual-SIM Android smartphone.

Important brands like Samsung, HTC, Nokia, LG and others have a hard time selling their smartphones in India to their pricing policies.

It appears that one of the few handsets that pack the most important features required on the Indian market is Samsung Galaxy Trend Duos, a device that’s been launched back in May.

Aside from its low price and dual-SIM support, the device offers both HSDPA (7.2Mbps) and HSUPA (5.75Mbps), along with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and built-in GPS.

Hardware-wise, the Galaxy Trend Duos comes equipped with a decent 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, 512MB of RAM and only 4GB of internal memory. Luckily, Samsung added a microSD card slot, so users will be able to further expand storage up to 32GB.

This is but the first of two mid-range Android smartphones that Samsung India confirmed it would launch by the end of September. The second might be the Galaxy Ace 3 or Galaxy Express, though we’re still waiting for official word. Stay tuned for more info on the matter.
