Position Title: Housekeeping / Engineering & Maintenance Supervisor
Reports To: Estate Manager
Location: [Multiple Establishments, Kolkata & Other Locations]
Position Overview:
The Housekeeping / Engineering & Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing
the cleaning, organization, and general upkeep of multiple properties, including their
engineering systems and maintenance. This role ensures the smooth and e icient
running of housekeeping operations, ensuring cleanliness, safety, comfort, and
operational integrity. The supervisor will manage both housekeeping sta and
maintenance personnel to maintain high standards of hygiene and property care.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Supervision of Sta :
o Manage, train, and schedule housekeeping and maintenance sta across
multiple establishments.
o Assign tasks to housekeeping and maintenance sta to ensure e iciency
and timely completion.
o Conduct regular performance evaluations for housekeeping and
maintenance sta .
o Foster a team environment where sta can work cohesively across all
establishments.
2. Cleaning and Organization:
o Supervise daily cleaning and upkeep of all rooms, including bedrooms,
bathrooms, kitchens, common areas, and other spaces.
o Ensure cleaning materials, tools, and equipment are properly stored,
maintained, and inventoried.
o Oversee the organization of household items, ensuring that each property
remains orderly and well-maintained.
3. Inventory and Supply Management:
o Keep track of cleaning supplies, engineering tools, and equipment,
ensuring adequate stock levels across all establishments.
o Manage the ordering and replenishment of supplies as needed for both
housekeeping and maintenance activities.
o Ensure a well-organized inventory system is maintained for both
housekeeping and engineering.
4. Engineering and Maintenance Oversight:
o Supervise routine maintenance and repairs of household and estate
systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and structural integrity.
o Ensure all engineering systems are in working order and coordinate the
necessary repairs or upgrades.
o Manage and schedule regular inspections and preventive maintenance of
all properties.
o Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized repairs or
installations as required.
5. Health & Safety Compliance:
o Ensure that all cleaning and maintenance procedures comply with health
and safety regulations.
o Ensure a safe and healthy working environment for all sta members,
particularly in maintenance activities.
o Conduct safety checks and risk assessments regularly to ensure all
properties meet safety standards.
6. Special Projects and Deep Cleaning:
o Plan and coordinate deep cleaning, seasonal cleaning, and special
projects as needed for both housekeeping and engineering.
o Supervise sta in maintaining delicate or high-value items, ensuring
appropriate care is given.
7. Guest Services (if applicable):
o Assist in managing guest requirements for cleanliness, comfort, and
amenities.
o Ensure guests' needs are met, and maintain high standards of hospitality
for all visitors.
8. Vendor Management and Contract Oversight:
o Liaise with vendors, contractors, and suppliers for cleaning materials,
maintenance, and engineering needs.
o Ensure contracts are in place for required services (e.g., pest control,
HVAC servicing) and manage those relationships.
9. Budget and Financial Oversight:
o Assist with managing budgets for housekeeping and maintenance
departments.
o Monitor spending, ensuring that maintenance and housekeeping activities
stay within budgetary constraints.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in housekeeping, maintenance management, or supervisory
roles.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Knowledge of cleaning products, techniques, and household maintenance
systems (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, etc.).
Ability to multitask and prioritize e iciently across multiple establishments.
Attention to detail and a strong focus on maintaining cleanliness, safety, and
operational integrity.
Proven ability to manage and coordinate multiple teams across di erent
locations.
Working Hours:
Full-time with flexibility required based on household needs, including weekends and as and when needed.
