We spent years telling people to create longer passwords, add more symbols and never reuse them.
Now, a better login experience may ask for none of that.
The tricky part is that a passwordless screen can look almost too simple to trust.
So the interface needs to make the unfamiliar feel clear. Tell users how their identity was verified, which device was used and what happens next.
A passwordless login should remove effort, not understanding.
