MSMEs are India’s economic backbone, employing over 33 crore people with nearly 40% women participation. Therefore, if India’s manufacturing output must expand nearly 15-fold to reach our aspirational Viksit Bharat target, our MSMEs will need to be in the driver’s seat for this.

Could AI be the answer to enhance their capabilities and strengthen employment?

Our latest report, ‘Unlocking the AI Edge for MSMEs’, explores the journey from AI experimentation to scaling and institutionalisation.

A block. A steady hand. A piece of fabric waiting for its first impression.

At our recent handblock printing workshop, that's where the story began, not with our colleagues, but with the artisans teaching them. Persons with special needs who've turned this craft into something of their own: a livelihood, a skill, a quiet kind of independence.

Our colleagues followed their lead, printing diaries, canvas bags and totes under their guidance, learning that precision isn't rushed, and patience isn't a limitation. It's a craft.

And now, these handcrafted pieces will begin a new journey in our offices. Colleagues can take them home, knowing that every purchase directly supports the artisans who brought them to life.

Did you know it takes an average of 8.69 months for new hires in India’s GCCs to become fully productive?

Our recent report, Navigating the Skills Imperative for India’s GCCs in the AI Era, reveals this significant gap in making talent AI-ready. This is why structured, sector-focused skilling pathways are urgently needed to accelerate workforce readiness.

Key capabilities shaping the future include domain knowledge, AI expertise, problem-solving, structured thinking, AI/ML engineering, and digital fluency. Developing these skills faster is critical for GCCs to translate AI ambitions into lasting enterprise value and unlocking the full potential of GCCs in India.

We recently joined leaders from across the industry at the ET Electronics World Design and Verification Summit to discuss the opportunities and challenges shaping India’s semiconductor ambition.

Sujay Shetty, Partner - ESDM & Semiconductor, PwC India, moderated the leadership dialogue, "From silicon to systems: building India’s next-generation semiconductor ecosystem,” focusing on how India can move beyond execution-led engineering to become a global hub for semiconductor innovation and IP creation. We explored stronger design and verification capabilities, faster system-level innovation, deeper ecosystem collaboration, and globally competitive semiconductor products and platforms.

As semiconductors become the backbone of AI, intelligent mobility, industrial automation, and connected infrastructure, the discussions underscored the need to build a future-ready ecosystem that can power India’s ambitions in the global technology landscape.

Sometimes, stepping away from your regular 9-to-5 and creating space for meaningful conversations can make all the difference.

Across locations, our volunteers spent time with young people from underserved communities, creating a space to pause, ask questions and think about what comes next.

Through conversations on self-awareness, communication, decision-making, and creative and critical thinking, the sessions focused on skills that can help young people navigate their choices and futures with greater confidence. Because sometimes, a single conversation can open the door to new possibilities.
