Dance Day every year has been an opportunity to further the meaning and imagine the endless possibilities of dance in Calcutta.To push its limits a little more. Who is a dancer, who is the dance for, where can we dance, what can we dance to, what is dance at all! Last year we carried dance into the century old Royal Insurance Building to give new language and attention to the space. Years before have seen us gathering in conversation or performance across city spaces.

This year we are again in a century-young space. Alipore Museum is a historic landmark of national importance with many of our legendary leaders incarcerated here at some point. But the spaces now are transformed to hold those memories but also perform a different kind of placemaking through hundreds of visitors exploring the exhibits at the new gallery spaces at the Museum.

We have had a history with Experimenter Outposts in the past and we are glad to be back again in this beautifully done contemporary arts space at the Museum. And what better than having Rathin Barman's evocative solo on the dualities of confinement and liberation, "The cage broke, and I found the horizon", to respond to.

Thank you and Priyanka A. for this expansive feature on our curation and performance for FICCI FLO's celebrations earlier this month.

It was exciting and challenging to try new formats for this show. Thank you and .mama for your creative energy and hard work.

Artsforward was invited by and to curate a performance for their annual celebrations that responds to the theme of 'Desi Drift'.

We invited the collective and musicians .mama and to collaborate with us to create an evening that captures the theme in two very different ways. One that celebrated the musical fusion that the indipop age enabled across musical genres and the other a contemporary performance responding to live classical music.

It was a joyous afternoon that celebrated the leadership of women in the best way. Thank you FLO Kolkata for having us. Gratitude to our brilliant artists for their infectious creative energy.

An absolute pleasure to be able to design, curate and deliver another Hackathon for Nutanix. January is incomplete without this rollercoaster every year. Half a year of prep and a week of madness after, a coming together of many teams on the ground across cities so that coders can imagine new solutions while their experience is enriched by experiences of art, culture and play.

Deep gratitude to the leaders who envision this extravaganza and for inviting us to imagine this.

It was a pleasure to collaborate with Sanjay Garg and the Raw Mango team to curate and choreograph the opening performance act for the Raw Mango show at The India Story.

Sanjay knew exactly what he wanted and yet created a space for the musicians of The Other Borno team to imagine and perform a response to Hazarika’s legendary composition.

The act was a surprise for Kolkata audiences who are used to seeing more traditional fashion choreography.

Gratitude to The India Story team for the trust. It was wonderful to return to the platform two years after Encounterkraft in 2023 ❤️
