Dear Power Professional,
We invite all Power Professionals, including Professionals of other fields, who have superannuated from their services and have entered post retired life, but are physically and mentally sound enough to contribute to the society by taking up short assignments in the industry, by providing professional services using their vast and valuable experiences.
We observed that there are many such Professionals who are seeking such opportunities, but are unable to do so for want of a suitable platform which can provide them the same.
As the power sector grew at a very high rate for the past 3-4 decades, a great number of professionals were engaged in this field in a very short time. But, as the growth saturated, the number of new entrants in this sector was also drastically reduced. This phenomenon is observed in the industries of other sectors also. However, as those professionals who worked in the industry for 3-4 decades reached their age of retirement, it caused a sudden depletion of experienced professionals in all of the areas, in the industry.
The above phenomenon has given rise to a very demanding challenge to the industry and various companies are trying to overcome it either by re-arranging their manpower or by seeking the services of the retired professionals in the respective fields. Unfortunately, none of these methods are producing desired results, as rearranging manpower is unable to bridge the gap created by loss of experienced professionals and on the other hand, retired professionals are reluctant to take up long term assignments at remote plants with limited compensation and no authority, which a regular employee have.
We found that there are very important services which can be provided by experienced retired professionals by visiting plants and other sites for short duration. Such services include ‘Supervision of Maintenance of Equipment and Overhauling’, ‘Technical Audit’, Training, etc. Already, certain firms are providing some of these services but not in a very organised and professional manner, even though there is a growing demand for quality services in the industry, in the above areas. There is a great demand for professionals who have experience in working in the Big Names of the industry.
Friends, to provide a well structured and professionally managed platform, to act as a bridge between the industry and the respective power professionals, we, fifteen ex-NTPCIANS as partners have formed a LLP firm. We are requesting our ex colleagues and other professionals, who wish to remain in touch with the sector, contribute and earn in a dignified way, to join us as associates and come forward with your resume so that we can compile and channelize your desire whenever opportunity comes.
To provide such services, the business model to be followed initially is that, the LLP firm shall carry out all marketing and coordination activities and take contractual work from various companies for providing services generally on man-day basis as a consultancy work. The amount received against the service provided shall be paid to the professionals engaged on man-day basis after deducting a small administrative charge. All other matters including GST etc. shall be dealt by the LLP firm. We are also open to take up consultancy assignments on contractual basis involving services of multiple persons from multidisciplinary areas.
