The Divine Balance: How Combining Vastu and Ayurveda Can Transform Your Health and Well-Being
Vastu and Ayurveda are two ancient Indian practices that have been utilized for centuries to promote health and well-being.
Although they may seem unrelated, there is a significant connection between the two that can have a profound impact on our lives.
Let’s explore the link between Vastu and Ayurveda and how combining these practices can enhance our physical and mental well-being.
In Vastu, the focus is on the design and layout of a building, with the aim of creating positive energy flow and a harmonious environment.
The principles of Vastu focus on balancing the five elements of nature - earth, water, fire, air, and space - to create a harmonious living environment. This is achieved through the use of specific architectural elements, such as the placement of windows, doors, colours, plants, water bodies etc. to encourage the flow of positive energies.
Ayurveda, on the other hand, is a holistic system of medicine that originated in India over 5000 years ago. This ancient practice is based on the belief that health and well-being are achieved through balance in the body, mind, and spirit.
Ayurveda focuses on the individual and their specific body type, known as doshas. This practice also recognizes the impact that the environment can have on a person's health and well-being, and emphasizes the importance of creating a harmonious and balanced living environment.
In Ayurveda, the focus is on a person's individual body type (doshas) and how to maintain balance through diet, lifestyle, and herbal remedies. These Doshas are nothing but a chemistry of the same five elements which we aim to balance through Vastu.
Thus, while Vastu aims to balance the panch tatvas in our external environment, Ayurveda does the same for our internal environment, i.e. the body & mind.
The link between Vastu and Ayurveda lies in the belief that the environment can greatly impact our health and well-being. By creating a balanced and harmonious living environment according to Vastu principles and balancing the five elements in the body according to Ayurvedic principles, it is believed that physical and mental health can be greatly improved.
For example, according to Vastu, the kitchen should be placed in the south east corner, which has a predominance of the fire element.
Ayurveda, on the other hand, emphasizes the importance of the same fire, or agni to promote digestion and overall health.
Thus, we can effectively say that in order to stay healthy, the agni tatva or the fire element must be balanced both in the body and your environment.
Similarly, the kidneys in our body relate to the water element. If there is an imbalance in the water zones ( North & North East) of the house, it is most likely to affect your kidneys.
Combining Vastu and Ayurveda can have a profound impact on our physical and mental well-being.
We can improve our overall health and well-being by following the principles of Vastu to make our living spaces more harmonious and by following the principles of Ayurveda to keep our bodies in balance.
This can result in improved sleep, better digestion, reduced stress, increased energy, and a stronger immune system.
In conclusion, the connection between Vastu and Ayurveda is significant and can greatly impact our physical and mental well-being.
Whether you are looking to improve your sleep, reduce stress, or simply enhance your overall health, incorporating Vastu and Ayurveda into your daily life can be a powerful and effective way to achieve your goals.
