Indian Railways has announced a significant change in its Advance Reservation Period (ARP) policy. Starting November 1, 2024, passengers will only be able to book tickets 60 days in advance, excluding the day of travel ¹. This means that the previous 120-day booking window will no longer be available.

*Key Points to Note:*

- _Bookings made before October 31 will remain valid_ ¹. So, if you've already booked your tickets, don't worry, they'll still be honored.
- _Certain daytime express trains are exempt_ from this change ¹. Trains like the Taj Express and Gomti Express will continue to have different advance reservation limits.
- _Foreign tourists can still book 365 days in advance_ ¹. This rule remains unchanged.

The reason behind this change isn't explicitly stated, but it's expected to increase ticket availability closer to travel dates .
