Being a project management consultant company, we travel across the country to evaluate feasibility of projects. Recently, for executing an assignment given to us by a nationalized bank for a new project, we had gone to Balian, 29 km from Guwahati. Wherever we go, we interact with the local people to understand the effect of the projects in their daily life. In a very few cases, we came across a project which capitalizes artistic values of local tribes to manufacture various eco-friendly items like chop sticks, briquette, match sticks, stirrer, straw, incense sticks, etc., made of bamboo which are very useful in our daily life. The implementation of this project will improve the local economy. The products will also substitute single use plastics.

We are celebrating 72nd birthday of our Sir, Dr. Dilip Datta today. He is not our employer. He is our teacher. When he was at the peak of his career path in service his entrepreneurial animal spirit motivated him to establish Sayantan Consultants. He with his team has handled about 2000 BIFR cases, undertook Project feasibility studies for about 2500 projects as empanelled consultant of various banks. Business Standard (20.05.2000) referred him as โ€˜The Man With a Healing Touchโ€™. He is the first Indian to become the member of International Turnaround Management Association, Chicago. Despite his busy schedule, he authored a book โ€˜Indian Manufacturing Industries: Contemporary Issuesโ€™, which was highly acclaimed by academia, Industries, Chambers of Commerce and Industries and Professional Institutes. His two books of poems โ€“ Adri-O-Aditi and Bhalobasar Beejtalay were liked by many. He loves teaching. As a visiting faculty, he taught in many management colleges including Calcutta University and IISWBM.
