🐝 On World Agri Tourism Day, students from National Udyog Ashram Inter College visited the “Madhumakhiwala” center in Rajauli, Barabanki to learn about beekeeping, honey production, and agri-tourism.

During the visit, children explored different bee species, understood the honey-making process, and discovered how honey changes in color, taste, and aroma depending on flowers and natural sources. 🍯

The most exciting part for students was tasting different varieties of honey and experiencing the unique flavors of nature firsthand.

Tourism & Culture Minister Shri Jayveer Singh said that Uttar Pradesh has huge potential in agri-tourism, where beekeeping, organic farming, and rural experiences can help create new employment opportunities and increase farmers’ income.

In the villages of Assam, many local beekeepers harvest honey, fill it in their own bottles, put simple labels on it, and sell it directly in nearby markets, usually around ₹800/kg, sometimes more, sometimes less.

Nimit Singh recently spoke with local beekeepers in Assam to understand how they manage beekeeping, process honey, and build their livelihood through local honey sales.
