At Kangra Fort, history doesn’t remain hidden—it reveals itself when illuminated. As light moves across ancient walls and intricate carvings, forgotten stories come alive, bridging the past with the present.

We feel truly privileged to have had the opportunity at Lucent Worldwide to rediscover and illuminate this forgotten heritage, with the invaluable support of Archaeological Survey of India ,Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. and —making this journey of light and legacy possible.

This project captures how light becomes a storyteller, uncovering layers of heritage that time tried to conceal. Because sometimes, to truly see history, we simply need to shine a light on it.

With deep humility, we share this moment of quiet pride in contributing to a space that pays tribute to the brave and selfless freedom fighters who secured our nation’s freedom.

The Importance of Preserving Darkness in Cities.

At The Oberoi Hotels & Resorts Bandhavgarh, lighting was conceived to be both expressive and discreet, to enhance the architecture and the forest setting while preserving darkness in a luxurious way. Careful control of light pollution and trespass, attention to visual comfort, and specially designed fixtures allow the resort to glow where it matters and remain respectfully dark where it should.

We are honored to have collaborated on a design that celebrates place rather than overwhelms it. Thank you to Studio Lotus and The Oberoi Hotels & Resort team for their trust and partnership throughout this project.

Conceived as “The Lantern of the North East”, the lighting is integral to the architecture, creating visual comfort, and subtly expressing the cultural warmth and identity of North East India.

Honored to share that Lucent Worldwide has received the International LIT Lighting Design Award 2025 for Heritage Lighting, for our work on The British Residency, Lucknow.
Our heartfelt gratitude to our visionary clients, the Indian Oil Foundation, for entrusting us with this legacy. This achievement reflects the artistry of Sarvdeep Basur, IALD our Principal Designer, with dedicated leadership from Satnam Singh, Project Head at Lucent Worldwide.
Illuminating heritage is more than design—it is storytelling through light, weaving memory and meaning into architecture.
Built in 1800, the Lucknow Residency was a British stronghold during the 1857 uprising. Its ruins stand as a solemn reminder of resilience, sacrifice, and India’s journey toward independence.
