A Commitment to Design for Resilience.

“Can you design for resilience?” That was the question that brought together students, academicians and practicing designers. At the Design Barn to celebrate World Industrial Design Day 2026.

The evening opened with a virtual address by Pradyumna Vyas, President World Design Organization and Sonia Manchanda, Board Member World Design Organization, Founding Partner Spread Design and Innovation Pvt Ltd.

Next, through inspiring real-world stories, our speakers explored resilience across disciplines:

Dr. Gayathri Aaditya, Sustainable Innovator | Impact-Driven Researcher, Principal, Sir MV School of Architecture shared a Design Journey of resilience, from uncertainty to opportunity.

Bhisma and Sree Naath, Creative Leaders heading Spread Film shared what it means to be resilient by feeling - feeling the spirit of New Goa through Filmscapes for the GOX Manohar International Airport.

Snehal Pawar, Head of Design - Alstom Asia and Advisor - CII National Committee of Design shared his perspective on Inclusive Mobility for Resilient Futures.

Suryarshi Mitra, Chief Growth Catalyst at Spread shared a Design Sense story for resilient food futures, creating a market for the millets of Karnataka. Shaping a path from authentic intent to lasting impact.

The talks opened into a round of questions from the floor, with the room engaging deeply on what resilience means for design today.
