Yesterday we received an award for the "Best Homestay of the year" presented by Sikkim Awards 2022.
As the representative of the homestay I would like to thank and express my gratitude to everyone who has been a part of my life & this journey. Every drop in the ocean counts and I will never forget those who help me in sailing through difficulties, they also deserve a portion of this reward.
In Dzongu the primary source of income used to be cardamom cultivation. Ever since the decline in cardamom, the alternative source of income gradually become the tourism industry and this was made possible by the state level NGO MLAS (Mutanchi Lum Aal Shezum), ECOSS (Eco tourism & Conservation Society of Sikkim) in association with GERES (Europe). With their training & guidance, after almost 20 years in the tourism industry our homestay was recognized & this achievement has to be equally shared by everyone involved during this process. This award represents our pinnacle of success & we will only get better in the future.
