WHAT IS Title Tag ?

Title Tag can be defined as a piece of HTML code used to describe the content of a specific web page through the keyword query typed into a search engine by the users. Title tags work as guides to all the search engines and help them know what content a specific page contains.
Title tag of a page can be viewed in the source code of the page or even at the top of the browser window in which the page is opened. For viewing the title tag through the source code one just needs to click on the view tab from the menu present in the top of the browser in which you have opened the page, when it opens, click on the page source. This will show you the title tag in the source code’s head section besides the Meta description and the Meta keyword tag.

What to include in your Title Tag?
The title tag of a webpage is the best place to include the most important keywords. So depending upon what your site offers i.e. products, services, or some information, etc; make sure you include the most important and the most relevant keywords in your title tag. In case your site has lot many products and services to offer, do not jumble up the title tag of your home page with all the keywords as it will neither be effective nor be good looking. However, you can add the keywords related to all the products, services, or information separately in the individual title tags that will be displayed separately on the individual pages.
One can also include the company’s name or product’s brand name in the title tags. Including the company’s name helps in establishing brand popularity for your company. This popularity can even result in making your company’s name a regular search term in the search engines.
How long should the length of the Title Tag be?
The optimum length, from SEO perspective is neither less than six words nor more than twelve, which means you can have fifty to eighty characters which will include the spaces, commas, hyphens, etc.
Keeping the title tags long is not a very bad idea, but it hardly helps either and looks rather ugly. So it is better to keep them short and sweet by including the important and meaningful words and the most relevant and important keywords.
