Canada Workers Benefit (ACWB) Increase 2026: Higher CRA Payments Starting July 10
The Canada Workers Benefit (ACWB) is set to increase starting July 10, 2026, bringing higher advance payments for eligible low and moderate-income workers across Canada. The increase is driven by a 2.7% inflation indexation applied by the CRA based on 2025 tax year calculations. As a result, maximum benefit amounts have risen for both single individuals and families, leading to higher installment payments across the July, October, and January advance cycle. Eligible single workers can now receive approximately $272 per payment, while families may receive up to $469 per installment, with additional increases for individuals qualifying for the disability supplement. No separate application is required, as eligibility is automatically determined through the 2025 tax return assessment. Workers should also be aware that income changes may impact final reconciliation at tax filing time, potentially affecting refunds or balances owed.
This update highlights the importance of timely tax filing and accurate income reporting to maximize benefit eligibility and avoid repayment adjustments.
