Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in May announced the change in definition of MSMEs as part of the relief package for the industry amid the Covid-19 outbreak

The new definition classifies enterprise in investment in plant and machinery or equipment and turnover

The Ministry informed that firms registration issued by any authority under the Ministry of MSME, will have to re-register themselves.
