While it remains difficult to arrange in itself, has been very active in signing on/off our crew members in India wherever possible with over 28,143 crew movements (8,245 on, 17,511 off, 2,387 Air) since July 27.

Seafarers have been the main pillar of support in Shipping, they have been sailing across the oceans in these difficult times and surviving the pandemic all by themselves at Sea.

J. M. Baxi & Co. has been in forefront in attending to the needs of the crew at all times and now has taken the initiative to have the Indian Seafarers inoculated whenever their vessel touches any Indian Port.

In accordance with DGS Guidelines, J. M. Baxi & Co. recently organized a vaccination drive for crew members of MV DECCAN PRIDE which called Krishnapatnam port on 23.06.21. A similar drive was arranged at Haldia port for two vessels MV JAG VISHNU & MV SANMAR SONNET in the same month.

Crew members, as per required norms, were asked to complete their self-registration through Cowin/Arogyasetu app, if not already done, and thereafter in coordination with the concerned authority they were vaccinated. At Krishnapatnam this initiative was first of its kind and was concluded successfully.

The count still continues and we aim to vaccinate each and every Seaman that reaches out to us.

J. M. Baxi & Co. successfully handled its first crew change at Vizhinjam port amidst the second wave of the pandemic. All the crew was of Indian nationality, with six sign-on and four sign-off’s on vessel MT Marine Gracious.

Vizhinjam seaport is an anchorage port, and in these challenging times is proving to be the most convenient port for effecting crew changes due to its geographic location and being amidst the sea route to and from the far east. The port is located in the southernmost state of Kerala, close to its capital Thiruvananthapuram.

J. M. Baxi & Co. have recorded the handling of the heaviest packages as a Lift On/Off operation from Mumbai port on the vessel Poolgracht. Loading 2 X H/L packages, weighing 961.125 M/Ton each and carrying a total of 6 packages / 1928 M/Tons / 7242 CBM.
