What if we looked at India through Bapu’s chashma? 👓

Not just as a symbol of simplicity, but as a different way of seeing.

A way of seeing an India where the last person matters.
Where every voice deserves to be heard.
Where differences don’t divide us, but add to our democracy.
Where dignity is not reserved for a few, but belongs to everyone.

Gandhi’s famous talisman asked us to think of the poorest and weakest person before taking a step.

At Vividhataa, we believe that principle still has a place in the India we are building — one where diversity is visible, inclusion is intentional, and every person has the opportunity to participate with dignity.

This Gandhi Jayanti, perhaps the question is not only what did Bapu see?

But — what do we choose to see through his chashma?

UGC’s latest direction puts disability inclusion in higher education back in focus — from admissions and recruitment data to accessibility, support systems and barrier-free campuses.

But inclusion cannot stop at reporting numbers.

An accessible campus means asking whether students can learn, participate, access support and complete their education with dignity.

The real question is: Are we building campuses where everyone can actually participate?
