Hello community! Do you want to start a food business? but you are hesitating to start a food business. Are you confused about the license and registration required for your business? Here is a simple guide to your problem🌐

Every person involved in the food business, such as persons who wish to open a restaurant, bakery, hotel, cloud kitchen or food stall in India and every Food Business Operator (FBO), involved in manufacturing, preparation, selling, transportation, distribution and storage of food products require some registration.
Those are as follows:

Business Registration: MSME Certificate (UDYAM Certificate), Shop Act License, Company Registration, etc.

Company Registration: LLP, Private limited Company, Partnership Firm, OPC..

Trade License: For a business in a specific area.

GST Registration: Mandatory for some businesses or can be done on a voluntary basis.

FSSAI License:
This is required by every Food Business Operator to run their business effectively.

🗂️Types of License: 3 types of licenses are issued by the FSSAI as per the Turn over of the business.
1] Basic License -Turnover up to 12 lakhs

2] State License -Turnover above 12 lakhs to 20 crore

3] Central License -Turnover above 20 crore

There are certain exceptions as well:

~ For manufacturers, State License will be applicable irrespective of their turnover.
~ For Import Export Business Central License will be applicable.
