Hypothesis :
Many a times during final stage of recruitment process, companies end up selecting candidates of same skill level, whom they have rejected during initial phase of the process.
---OR---
A candidate with similar level of skill sets to that candidate who has been selected finally for a job role, has higher chances of getting rejected during initial phase of recruitment process.
Description:
When recruitment process starts most of the focus remains on hard-skill criterion to short-list candidates. Recruitment managers/interviewers keep high benchmark for skills of candidates to be selected during initial phase. As the process continues and pressure to finalize a candidate for given job role increases, then recruitment managers/interviewers lower the benchmark to select a candidate, consciously or sub-consciously.
