At Kypad Design Office, we approached the wardrobe as more than just storage.

It is designed to also function as display, allowing everyday objects to become part of the space, while the detailing keeps the composition clean and structured.

We used the wardrobe to carry the living room palette into this bedroom.
We finished it in white back painted glass on the upper half and ribbed blue panel below, framing it in dark wood with brass flush pulls. We chose a similar blue as the navy sectional we used in the living area to maintain continuity.

At Kypad Design Office LLP, every corner of a home is approached as an opportunity to create something deeply personal and thoughtfully layered. For this project, the tiles were chosen to bring depth and grounding to the space, balancing the warmth of the material palette with a quiet sense of contrast.

Thoughtfully selected, seamlessly integrated, and designed to feel timeless.

We built the seating corner around the cognac armchair.

We paired it with a curved navy sectional and a green marble side table. The relief artwork on the wall, hand-cut white fragments we assembled within a warm timber frame with gold bar detailing, was one of the first things we knew we wanted in this room.

We wanted this room to feel different from the rest of the apartment.

We designed the full-height wardrobe in sage green with oval groove patterns routed across its surface. We extended wooden open shelving and a built-in study desk from the same wall unit. We shifted the floor from the marble we used throughout to light oak, which felt right for a room that gets used the way a child's bedroom gets used.

We gave the bathroom one strong move and let everything else follow from it.

We designed a curved alcove and tiled it in glossy blue verticals. We hung a round backlit mirror above a vessel sink on a stone countertop and paired it with a brass faucet and a floating wooden vanity below. Brass we carried through this space as we did everywhere else in the apartment: in the faucet, the handles, and the mirror frame.

Our fav moments of the residence

We designed the crimson console with curved cutouts at the base specifically for this wall. The wall light beside the mirror, three clay discs, hand-textured individually and mounted on a brass stem, is one of our favourite pieces in the apartment. We placed the black chair upholstered in a graphic black-and-white fabric against floor-to-ceiling teak veneer storage that handles everything an entry needs to handle.

We love wooden panels.

We wanted the entry and the living room to feel like separate spaces without closing them off from each other. We designed the teak screen, a grid of rounded rectangular openings, to do exactly that, while letting you see the crimson console on the other side. We ran the bookmatched white marble floor through both spaces without interruption.

Introducing MN Residence. We've been sitting on this one for a while.

MN Residence is a home we designed for a family that likes art, colours and spaces that feel easy on the eyes. The brief was never about a single idea or a signature look. It was about building an apartment that could hold many small ideas and varied tastes all at once.

We organised the rooms around a shared material palette, teak, walnut, brass, and lime plaster, that runs through the apartment in varying configurations. The living room is where everything comes together: navy, cognac, crimson, gold, and the warmth of teak all sharing the same space. From there, the rooms peel off into their own directions. The entry distils it into crimson and black. The child's bedroom takes sage green and terracotta. The bathroom commits to deep blue.
A curved motif we introduced on the TV wall as a vertical gold wave became a thread we followed through the rest of the apartment, into the bedroom doors and into the furniture. Indian references came in the same way: a classical peacock painting in a lit niche, clay wall lights textured by hand, and relief artwork assembled by hand, as they would be in any home rooted in its context.
More to follow.
