Objective
In view of the high number of dilapidated buildings
and recent collapses, safety of people and fitness of
buildings for human habitation have emerged as
crucial concerns. As a result, the need for regular
structural assessment is being felt more strongly
than ever before. Maharashtra Act No. VI, through
its amendments to various municipal corporation acts
has made ‘Structural Audit’ mandatory for all
buildings, which are older than 30 years. Municipal
corporations have also brought out their guidelines
and framed their requirements for Structural Audit.
This CPD Program is designed to guide the
participants to understand various statutory
provisions governing Structural Audit, conduct the
condition survey, document and interpret the findings
and prepare an Audit Report. It will also deal with
the advantages and limitations of Structural Audit
and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT).
The Program will offer practical insights into the
subject through case studies and active interaction
with the participants. Participants will also get the
benefit of attending a Free Online Follow-up Session
for further sharing and interaction with the faculty.
