“Your Factory Has 100 Alerts. But Will Anyone Notice the One That Matters?”

It is like The Boy Who Cried Wolf, several times.....

Alert fatigue and .rust in data,

When every alert is urgent, eventually nobody reacts.

- Too many dashboard alerts.
- Too many reports.
- Too many escalation messages.
- Too many notifications.

When a genuine production risk appears, the team may ignore it. ( When the wolf finally came, the villagers ignored the cries for help. They had heard the alarm too many times—and this time, the danger was real.)

DM “VISIBILITY” if you want to identify the gaps in your factory's digital visibility.

Your LinkedIn profile is NOT your online CV.

It can be your next business opportunity.

Most business owners use LinkedIn to say:
“I am the Founder of…”
But your potential customer is thinking:
“Can this person solve my problem?”

That's the shift.

LinkedIn today can help you:
→ Build visibility
→ Establish authority
→ Get discovered by the right people
→ Start meaningful conversations
→ Generate business opportunities

But only if you use it strategically.

On 24 October, we're going beyond posting and connecting.

We're showing entrepreneurs and business owners how to use LinkedIn for business growth.

Your factory may be automated.
That doesn’t mean it’s digitally mature.

You may have ERP, IoT, robotics, and dashboards—
yet people still depend on Excel and WhatsApp.

Automation runs machines.
Digital maturity improves decisions.

The real question:
“Is digital actually improving your business?”

Your factory can have the right technology.

And still fail at digital transformation.

Because the real problem may not be technology.

It may be leadership alignment.

The CEO wants growth.
The COO wants operational efficiency.
The Plant Head wants fewer disruptions.
The CIO wants systems to integrate.
The CFO wants measurable ROI.
The CHRO wants people to adopt the change.

Everyone may have a valid priority.

But if everyone is moving in a different direction…

Digital transformation becomes a collection of projects.

Not a business transformation.

Leadership alignment means agreeing on 3 things:

→ What business problem are we solving?
→ Where should digital create measurable impact?
→ What must change — technology, processes and people?

The first step in digital transformation isn't choosing technology.

It's getting the leadership team aligned on the problem worth solving.

If you're a CEO, MD or COO planning your next digital initiative, DM me “ALIGNMENT”.

I’ll share the questions I use to identify where leadership and digital priorities may be misaligned.

The most expensive question in your factory:

“Why didn’t we know earlier?”

A machine breaks down.

Production slips.

Quality issues increase.

Dispatch gets delayed.

And only then does everyone start asking:

“What happened?”

The problem isn't always the issue itself.

It’s the time between the issue appearing and leadership seeing it.

When your factory depends on:

→ Manual reports
→ Excel updates
→ WhatsApp messages
→ Delayed dashboards
→ People chasing information

visibility comes late.

And late visibility becomes expensive.

For a CEO, COO or Plant Head, the real question is:

“Which problems are already developing in my factory that I won’t see until they become expensive?”

That’s where digital can create real value.

Not by giving you more data.

By helping you see the right problem earlier.

If you suspect your factory has visibility gaps, comment “VISIBILITY”.

Your employees aren't rejecting digital.

They just don't know what to do with it.

You can invest in ERP, AI, and automation.

But if people still rely on Excel, WhatsApp, and old processes, the problem isn't technology.

It's awareness.

Digital adoption starts when employees understand:

→ What's changing
→ Why it matters
→ How it helps them

That's why I created the Digital Awareness Bootcamp.

Because technology adoption starts with people.

If you're a CEO, CHRO, or Digital Leader, comment “BOOTCAMP”.

I'll share the details.

9 signs your factory may have a digital gap.

You may already have ERP.
Automation.
Dashboards.
Data.

But if these things are happening, something may still be missing:

→ Your ERP is live. People still use Excel.
→ Machines run, but capacity keeps slipping.
→ Data exists, but decisions still depend on people.
→ Systems don’t connect, so people connect them manually.
→ The same few people always know “what’s really happening.”
→ Your teams spend more time firefighting than improving.
→ Digital pilots work but never reach the next plant.
→ Employees see digital as extra work.
→ Leadership cannot see the complete customer-to-shopfloor picture.

These aren't necessarily technology problems.

They are signs that your factory may not be getting the full value from the technology it already has.

That’s exactly where I would start a Digital Opportunity Audit.

Not by asking, “What software should we buy?”

But by asking:

“Where is the factory losing productivity, visibility or decision-making capacity — and can digital close that gap?”

If you’re a Manufacturing CEO, MD, COO or Plant Head and recognise 2–3 of these signs, DM me “AUDIT”.

I’ll share how I would approach the assessment.

Your machine is running.

So why is your factory still losing capacity?

A machine can be available for 8 hours…

…and still not produce 8 hours of output.

The hidden losses are often elsewhere:

→ Waiting for material
→ Waiting for operator decisions
→ Slow running
→ Changeover delays
→ Minor stoppages
→ Rework and rejects

The machine is “available.”

But the capacity isn't.

This is where many Plant Heads look at the wrong number.

The real question is not:

“How much downtime did we have?”

It is:

“How much productive capacity did we actually lose?”

That gap is often where the next productivity improvement is hiding.

Plant Heads: Are you measuring machine availability — or productive capacity?

Comment “CAPACITY” if you want the checklist I use to identify hidden capacity losses.

8 years of Going Digital.

On 3rd September 2018, I started Going Digital with a simple belief:

Digital transformation should not begin with technology.

It should begin with understanding the business.

Over the last 8 years, that belief has only become stronger.

I’ve seen manufacturers invest in ERP, automation, dashboards, AI and digital tools — yet still struggle with the same operational problems.

Because the real challenge is rarely “Which technology should we buy?”

It is:

- Where is the digital gap actually hurting the business?
- Where are people still relying on Excel, WhatsApp and manual workarounds?
- Where is leadership seeing one reality while the factory experiences another?

And most importantly:

What should we fix first?

That is the work I want Going Digital to continue doing — helping businesses identify the right digital opportunities before they spend more money on technology.

8 years.
A lot of learning.
Many conversations.
And one belief that remains unchanged:

Going Digital is the only way…

Thank you to every client, partner, colleague and connection who has been part of this journey.

If you are a manufacturing CEO, MD, COO or Plant Head wondering whether your factory is truly ready for its next stage of growth, let’s talk.

Your CEO wants growth.

But your factory may still be fighting yesterday’s problems.

The CEO is thinking about:

- New markets.
- Higher margins.
- More capacity.
- Bigger customers.

The factory is dealing with:

- Recurring breakdowns.
- Manual processes.
- Data gaps.
- Quality issues.
- Delayed decisions.

Both are working hard.

But are they working toward the same future?

This is where many manufacturers have a digital gap.

The growth strategy moves forward.

The operation keeps solving yesterday’s problems.

And eventually, growth exposes every weakness that was already there.

For a CEO or MD, the real question is:

“Is my factory digitally ready for the growth I’m planning?”

If you’re not sure, DM me “FACTORY”.

I’ll show you where I would start looking.
