Bajaj Hindusthan Sugar Ltd

Bajaj Hindusthan Sugar Ltd ‘Bajaj Sugar’ has the largest installed production capacity for sugar and ethanol in the country.

Our 14 sugar mills and 6 distilleries are all located in the state of Uttar Pradesh associated with 5 Lakh farmers, employing about 8,000 people. Bajaj Hindusthan Limited (BHL) was incorporated on 23rd November, 1931 under the name - The Hindusthan Sugar Mills Limited - on the initiative of Jamnalal Bajaj - a businessman, confidante, disciple and adopted son of Mahatma Gandhi. He sought Gandhiji's

blessings in this new venture, which, apart from being a sound commercial proposition would also meet a national need. Till then, there were barely thirty sugar factories in the country.

🌱 A New Season of Growth Begins at Bargadwa!

Bajaj Sugar Mill, Itaimaida, inaugurated the monsoon sugarcane planting season at Bargadwa village, Shridattganj, with the planting of Co 16202 variety using the trench method at farmer Vijaypal Verma’s field.

The programme brought together around 50 farmers, who received practical guidance on scientific sugarcane cultivation, healthy seed selection, field preparation, proper spacing, irrigation and nutrient management.

Farmers were also encouraged to adopt intercropping with pulses, oilseeds and other suitable crops during the early stages of sugarcane cultivation. This helps utilise available farmland better while creating an opportunity for additional farm income.

Through continued technical guidance and knowledge-sharing, Bajaj Sugar Mill remains committed to supporting farmers in achieving better productivity and greater returns from sugarcane cultivation. 🌾

Faith inspires the journey. Seva makes the journey easier. 🙏

The Kanwar Yatra is a deeply revered pilgrimage undertaken by devotees during Shravan, carrying the sacred Ganga water as an offering to Lord Shiva.

At Bajaj Hindusthan Sugar, Kinauni Unit, we had the opportunity to support the yatris as they continued their journey. From 7th to 11th August, a Kanwad Shivir was organised to provide a welcoming space where devotees could pause, rest and refresh themselves along the way.

With arrangements for shelter, food and refreshments, medical assistance and hospitality, the initiative was a humble effort to make their journey a little more comfortable.

Because seva is not always about doing something big. Sometimes, it is simply about being there when someone needs support. 🙏

Ethanol is emerging as an important part of India's transition towards a cleaner and more energy-secure future 🌱

The Ethanol Blending Programme is helping reduce India's dependence on imported crude oil while supporting lower emissions and strengthening energy security. The programme has already contributed to significant savings in foreign exchange and reduced the need for crude oil imports.

With ethanol produced in India, the shift towards cleaner mobility is gaining momentum, while also creating greater value from our agricultural resources.

This World Biofuel Day, we recognise the growing role of biofuels in India's energy transition and the steps being taken towards a more sustainable future.

At Bajaj Hindusthan Sugar Limited, we are proud to contribute to this journey through our ethanol production and support India's move towards cleaner energy.
