A great piece of advice from my mentor, sharing here for all...
In life there is a path of being good, live with truth, have minimum desires, being humble, having less greed, jealousy, doing good to others, thinking less about pleasure, material things, etc.
There is another path to have lots of desires, therefore, go crazy after making money, buy luxurious cars, have huge houses, buy tons of jewellery, get name, fame, etc.
Both choices are open to all of us. It does not require great intelligence to choose one path or the other.
The first path is difficult, but gives a lot of peace, tranquility, enough to survive and good health.
The other path of hedonism is also good. It gives lots of money, pleasure, material things, name, fame etc.
But it means taking a lot of risk, thinking overtime about how to make more money, how to surpass others, sometimes even doing things which are not very moral etc.
Now we have to choose between the first or second.
This has to be cognitively understood. There is no compulsion.
But, we cannot flip flop or walk alternatively in different paths. Then it leads to a lot of confusion and greater stress.
