Highlights of budget 2016 for Tax:

1. Sec. 87A benefit increased from Rs. 2,000 to Rs. 5,000.

2. Sec. 80 GG benefit increased to Rs. 60000 pa

3. Sec. 44AD - Tax-Audit Turnover Limit INCREASED to 2 crores

4. Lower tax rates to new manufacturing cos. Without deduction. 25%

5. Cos with turnover upto 5 crores tax @ 29%

6. Tax benefits to start ups. (100% exempt for 3 out of 5 years) Subject to MAT

7. Compliance window to disclose black money @ 45% rate. (Tax 30% + surcharge 7.5% + penalty 7.5%)

8. Agriculture cess introduced @ 0.5% with effect from 1st June'16.
