Most people think fireflies glow just to warn predators but that’s only part of the story. ✨

Their light is mainly a form of communication, especially for finding mates. Each species has its own unique flashing pattern, turning forests and wetlands into silent coded conversations after dark.

Because fireflies are highly sensitive to pollution, artificial lights, and habitat loss, their disappearance is often a warning sign of environmental damage.

The Great Indian Bustard (Ardeotis nigriceps), one of India’s heaviest flying birds, is now critically endangered and fighting for survival in shrinking grasslands.

Once widespread across the Indian subcontinent, this majestic bird is now found mostly in Rajasthan, with only a few fragmented populations remaining elsewhere.
