🤔 Enjoy Gatari or "Celebrate Deep Amavasya 😇 ??
🙏🏻In our Hindu tradition, the lamp ( दीप / दिया / दिवा) 🪔symbolizes light, purity, knowledge & divine energy.
New moon 🌑 Amavasya (अमावस/ अमावस्या) is related to *Lord Shiva* (शिवजी) 🙏🏻
🪔 On Aashadi Amavasya (आषाढी अमावस्या), lighting a lamp in the home altar (देवघर /देव्हारा) signifies offering one’s inner light and devotion to the divine. 🙏🏻
🪔 It dispels darkness—both physical and spiritual—and brings peace and positivity to the home.
🪔 We also, welcome the upcoming Shravan (श्रावण) month.
🪔 This day is also considered auspicious for ancestral offerings (पितृ तरपण), believed to remove ancestral doshas and bring blessings.
🪔 In some regions, Goddess
Lakshmi & Durga (लक्ष्मी & दुर्गा) are also worshipped for wealth, protection, and harmony. 💐🙏🏻
🤔 So, What Should We Do Today (Deep Amavasya) ?
1.👉🏻 Clean your house & decorate with rangoli and flower garlands.
2.👉🏻 Clean and worship all the lamps (clay or metal) in their homes, including diyas, samais (समई) & niranjans (निरांजन).
3.👉🏻 Lamps are lit across the house, using oil or ghee in earthen or metal lamps.
4.👉🏻 Place them around the house, tulsi plant, and entrance. (main door).
5.👉🏻 Offer puja & recite mantras to worship deities.
6.👉🏻 You can also perform pitru tarpan, and recite prayers.
