I just wanted some food, For me and my unborn child,
Didn’t know that I’d be fooled,
By a human who offered me some as he smiled.
I was naive and took a bite,
Next thing I knew everything was out of sight.
I sat in the water so as to give my baby some relief,
As I closed my eyes and surrendered in disbelief.
Hey there, Do you remember me?
I am the Elephant.
Yes, the one who has been popping up in social media.
Let me tell you my story...
I entered this village,
with the name God's own Country.
Looking around I saw lush green trees and bushes and thought to myself my child is going to have a good future here.
But little did I know, the ones I considered God, the ones whom I trusted and believed would show me the real God.
The food given to me filled my appetite forever, I didn't understand what to do, I ran to get rid of this pain.
While racing through those streets, I could have destroyed everything that came my way, but how could I?
How could I destroy my God? Standing there in the water, ailing with pain, my last thought was, What did I do to deserve this fate?

All your love and a cozy place to stay,
A gentle touch… it isn’t much…But you took it all away….. You took it all away…Can’t you see? Can’t you feel?
The pain you cause is real!!!
Left to suffer and die!!!!!

Why are we so ignorant ?
Killing an innocent elephant
Behaving like a militant
And saying it was an accident
Let's not be arrogant, or ignorant
The elephants,
They are relevant.
It's not wise to show temperament.
Especially to an animal so intelligent.
Every atrocity strays us further from humanity,
Every innocent life lost is a badge of depravity,
Adds to the list of murders.
Look at your blood-stained hands,
How are you gonna wash them?
Raise your voice before its too late,
Before we start killing each other for joy.
Fight for justice for all,
Whether a human or an animal,
Because her life mattered as much as yours.
