I held the camera for the first time at the age of four, little did I know that it would play the role of a catalyst in making me witness the journey of life, of experiences and of growth metaphorically. Taking up a hobby and turning it into a profession comes with its own set of challenges and learnings. I pursued photography in 2010, after graduating in banking and insurance, a risk I took not k

nowing where I would land. The leap of faith proved fruitful, and the result is here for all to see. After Completing the Mastercrafteman Diploma in Professional Photography and Digital Imaging from Shari Academy – The best photography school in India at the time, and Having bagged 3 awards – Mastercraftsman of the year 2012, Best Child Photography of the Year 2012, and Judges Award by highly renowned photographer – Sandeep Mhatre, I have set out in carving a niche for myself on this huge canvas of art. I love the art of image-making and designing, of conceptualizing , visualizing and creating and the ability to express that comes along with it. Through this website, I aim to reach out to people, to showcase my work -professional and personal, and share my growth in the field and as a person.

This post is special. Super special. I've known Nilay from as far as my memory can take me. The last day of May was significant because I saw him take the leap with his beloved Nidhi. They're a couple that normalises 'Normalcy'. They balance opposites, they feast on rationality and madness from the same platter.
Nidhi wanted to follow traditions and not see Nilay till they were scheduled to meet while he wanted to break traditions for there is no bigger tradition than that of Love!
Ofcourse they saw one another and united in their differences, while I had a jolly good time documenting their union with the stars as my backdrop.

So Nikunj married the love of his life today. But what hasn't changed is the tradition that his squad of cousins follow....

So Nikunj married the love of his life today. But what hasn't changed is the tradition that his squad of cousins follow. They take a picture together at every wedding they attend ever since they were kids. Nikunj is the first one to get hitched amongst them and so this had to be made special :)

We witnessed a beautiful post wedding ritual in the Naval Wedding we shot in early 2016.

The Arch of Swords - The sword bearing officers form an Arch with their blades facing upwards. It is a ritual where the Navy pledges it's fidelity to the couple by literally sheltering them!
At each step, the officers lower their sword, detain the couple and ask them to kiss before passing.
Only once the couple has exited the Arch, do they dissolve formation!

Framed in rituals and traditions. As a photographer, I'm almost always in close proximity of the pandits while capturing an event. I keep a ear on them, listen to their instructions, lessons and explanations of the mantras, rituals and significance of the ongoing ceremonies. A good pandit makes one realise how beautiful they are if one truly puts one's faith in them.

Pulling, stretching, exercising, massaging babies with the confidence of a surgeon, heart of a butcher and finesse of a sculptor. They'll sense the slightest change in your baby's behaviour but talk to the little ones like an adult. Not for the weakhearted. 🙈

Its almost 1:30AM. We've just finished a 5 day wedding shoot of a friend I've grown up with. Even our respective fathers have grown up together. The bond I share with this family is something I cannot put into words. And so, we have no boundaries. I am allowed in their innermost sanctums, just like an insider.
