Last evening August 27th, at Little Theatre-NCPA 2 lovely films By Nidhi Tuli were screened

The Saroj Khan Story which gave us an insight into India's most prolific choreographer. Her life, her struggles and her wins.

Ladies Special had us all smiling through the film on this local train ride from Virar to Churchgate and back to Virar with the amazing ladies of Bombay's workforce!
Take a bow, Nidhi Tuli for making films that are so personal yet informative and entertaining.

The Technicians present shared their experiences during the shoot.

Both ‘Ladies Special’ and ‘The Saroj Khan Story’ are multi-award winning films. Ladies Special received Best Documentary award at Signs 2005 and won a top Prize at Cine Rail Paris. The Saroj Khan Story received the Best Documentary Featurette at the Fiji Film Festival.

The documentary chronicles Saroj Khan's challenging journey to become one of the most prolific and celebrated choreographers commonly referred to as "Masterji".

‘Ladies Special’ is an account of journeys of women commuters traveling from Virar to Churchgate (60 kms apart) and back, during office hours, in Mumbai, India, in a Women’s only train called –Ladies Special. It gently uncovers the humour and the solidarity of female commuters as they create a space for themselves somewhere between work and home in the highly stressful life of Mumbai City.

Do not miss these wonderful films...
Directed By NIDHI TILI

'The Saroj Khan Story' began as a search for the genius behind one of the greatest
choreographers that the Hindi film industry has ever produced, what remains is
a deeply personal story of determination, passion, extraordinary skill and the sheer will to survive that is both intimate and inspiring.

Wonderful screening on July 23, 6.30pm at Little Theatre NCPA

Yes! They are married now!!
Humourous, warm, poignant... Jay and Franziska let us be a part of their family in their efforts for a cross cultural, cross continental marriage in this beautiful film.
"AMMA APPA" is a film that resonated with the audience who had braved the rains. Clearly a delight!

July 23, 6:30 at Little Theatre -NCPA
Screening of a lovely film AMMA & APPA
by Franziska Schönenberger / Jayakrishnan Subramanian
DURATION : 89 MINS
A documentary culture clash between India and Germany: Amma & Appa – Tamil for Mother and Father – tells the story of two married couples – both around the same age, both married for more than thirty years; yet from totally different cultural settings: Bavaria and India. They come together because their
children have fallen in love and want to shoot a documentary film about this meeting of cultures.
Amma & Appa is a humorous and sensitive exploration of the biographies and love stories of two (actually three) couples, who are so different but only at first glance.
