India's rental furniture and appliance market, dominated by the likes of RentoMojo, Furlenco, Rentickle, and CityFurnish, is now worth Rs 33,500 crore, with the top 20 cities accounting for 55% of the total addressable market.
Indian furniture rental startups can serve 14 million households, with a monthly average order value of Rs 1,900. The average rental duration is usually 13 months.
Also, as 43% of India’s urban population spread across the top 20 cities contribute to more than half of the total market, the industry is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 11% by 2025.

Office space leasing has picked up in the third quarter (Q3) of this year (CY20). The absorption of commercial office space rose 64% in Q3 of CY20 versus Q2, as per JLL India. The Q3 office rebound growth was led by Bengaluru and Hyderabad, which together accounted for nearly 80% of the net absorption in Q3.
On a yearly basis, the absorption of space has fallen 50% from 10 million sq ft in Q3CY19 to 5.4 million sq ft in Q3CY20

Corporates and independent consumers are renting ergonomic curated products to make WFH more efficient. Categories in demand are mostly WFH essentials - desks, tables, chairs, recliners as well as comfortable beds, furnishings, fitness equipment and home appliances.

A survey by Knight Frank indicates, more than 70% of companies are likely to continue with WFH policy for a percentage of their total staff for the next six months to maintain social distancing and for business continuity.

The merged entity called Embassy Developments, co-headquartered in Mumbai and Bengaluru, will have 80.8 million square feet of launched and planned assets.

In comparison, DLF, the country's largest developer, has 32.8 million sq ft of operational rental assets, 3.2 million sq ft of under-construction assets, 19 million sq ft of development potential and has 204 million sq ft of land reserves.
