The current shortage across the globe due to a demand-supply mismatch has made it amply clear that the world cannot forsake this fossil at least in the medium term. Despite the sharp rise in energy power in the last few years, coal is still responsible for 75 percent of India’s electricity production. Can we still use coal without harming the ? Have we made enough advances in technology to drastically reduce emissions to near zero?

Attracting, retaining and advancing talent in is the immediate and urgent need for business success. The government must institute more policies that benefit female workers and encourage their active participation in the manufacturing industry. The New Policy that emphasizes vocational training as a route to generating is a good start but much more needs to be done both by govt and private sector on a war footing to create an impactful and positive perception about manufacturing for women.

The government plans a booster shot for the medical devices sector to make India one of the top 5 global hubs by 2047 in terms of value and for medical devices. India aims to achieve 10-12% of the global market share of the devices sector to arrive at a $100 - $300 billion industry. The country will have about 50 clusters for faster clinical testing of medical devices to boost product and , to further aid the govt’s efforts to reduce import dependence from 80% to below 30% in the next 10 years.
