It’s been a while. We hope all of you are well, safely indoors.

To say the last few months have been challenging would be a gross understatement.

2020 brought us a pandemic, personal loss, and existential angst that would make Sartre proud.

With the lockdown in place we’ve had to keep #75 shut for coworking and except for our office boy Bharat, no one has been able to access it. He has bravely looked after the space and made sure that all our cats are well taken care of.

With no certainty on what the future holds for #75 (or the rest of everything, really), we will spend the next few weeks trying to understand what the Native community needs to stay safe, sane and productive, and how we can help facilitate that.

Choosing a more sustainable lifestyle is about action rather than talk.

Fashion accounts for 8% of the world's greenhouse gas emissions and most new manufactured clothes are either incinerated or trashed within the first year.

Buying second hand clothes, sharing and reusing apparel is now a global movement - the second hand apparel industry was worth $24bn in 2018! Making this choice reduces your carbon footprint, reduces water consumed in production and reduces the money you spend.

The (many) sisters behind have brought this movement to Mumbai and are hosting a thrift sale with us this Sunday. You should come for the amazing products they have on sale and to experience second hand retail for yourself.

As an added incentive, there are specially crafted food and beverage options, and as always, many cats on hand to pet.

We are counting down to Christmas and there's no better time to indulge in some shopping in keeping with the spirit of giving!

A nominal entry fee will be charged and proceeds will go to providing the right clothing to people who cannot always access it. Check out and their work for more details on this.

You can book your entry on insider.in or simply walk in on the day.

Here is what Native looked like this weekend - beautiful performances that filled our space with stories of mystery, ambition and human fallibility.

We had a fantastic evening yesterday hosting and talking about his book Truck De India! with the brilliant Ranjit Hoskote.

In Truck De India!, journalist Rajat embarks on a 10,000 km-long, 100% unplanned trip, hitchhiking with truckers all across India. On the way, he makes unexpected friendships; listens to highway ghost stories; discovers the near-fatal consequences of overloading trucks; documents the fascinating tradition of truck art in Punjab; travels alongside nomadic shepherds in Kashmir; encounters endemic corruption repeatedly; survives NH39, the insurgent-ridden highway through Nagaland and Manipur; and is unfailingly greeted by the unconditional kindness of perfect strangers.

Rajat has a keen sense of history in the telling of his story and his humour and empathy make this book both revelatory and resonant. Read it now!

This is Rajat's first book and we're hoping we writes many more. :)

Native Spaces did not start out with lots of animals. But running this coworking space was a decision taken solely with heart; and over the years #75 has seen many organic changes. Some bad and heartbreaking, and some amazing and heartwarming. Being able to look after stray cats, dogs and whatever fauna comes our way has been our constant joy.

Thank you Ganga Madappa for starting this fundraiser for us. Our coworkers have always been supportive of our cat care - Even those for whom proximity to so many cats has sometimes been problematic.
Please support this campaign and our efforts with these animals in any way you can. Even if it's just dropping by and saying hi!

Here are also some images of our cats in their natural habitat for your viewing pleasure. :)

Wondering what Pots, Pans and Paniyarams is?
On the 30th of this month, we are having our first Native Sunday - one Sunday every month we're dedicating to discovering an indigenous aspect of our daily lives. This month's story is coming to us from Kochi, and the focus is on traditional Indian cookware.in will have a showcase and exhibit of various indigenous Indian utensils made from bronze, cast iron, copper, clay and stone. Priya Deepak, founder of kitch.in will tell us her story and what the movement towards local cookware is all about.
, a well known face of Karwari and Kolhapuri home cooking will be with us to talk about the need and benefits of a transition to traditional methods and materials.
As we do for all our events, we will be serving some specially prepared foods on the house. Home cook Manjusha () will be preparing these using all the ingredients on display and sale for the day. Manjusha, who is an
IBM professional by day, will talk to us about why traditional utensils are a mainstay in her home and how urban households can integrate this cookware in their cooking.

Native does many things and the only way we manage it happily is by collaborating with people we love. On the 28th, Native's will be quizzing folks and if you're good you can win a bottle of Paul John whiskey. Register soon, these get filled up fast.

Reposted from - Hosting a bar quiz on June 28th. I'm stoked about it and I promise to keep the questions easy (ish). It will be a general quiz with a special round on 'alcohol in pop culture' because you know, I am bombaybrew. :) -
