The 7 day raw challenge started with a bang.. its always fun to do these challenges with some known faces who are also a source of great motivation for me to stay on the challenge as well.

I am truly grateful to Zoya to be consistent following these challenges for last 9 batches. Her energy and smile keeps everyone upbeat! Now there are many more people repeating this challenge and everytime we get together it’s like a tribe of like-minded going together to celebrate health..

Day one started with a delicious green smoothie made frozen bananas basil leaves lemon zest n water along with a side of juicy ripe mangoes. Penny joined me and we had so much fun enjoying these natures treats!!

As a Nutritionist I get to meet and talk to so many people… as humans we are compassionate and loving beings but eating dairy and animal products is a genuine addiction and giving it up can truly get difficult

I get this query a zillion times- I have tried giving up dairy repeatedly to become a vegan but whatever I do I am not able to 100% follow through.. give me easy steps to sustain this habit.. I really want to become a vegan

Going vegan will definitely be an important turning point in your life, and probably a one you’ll thank yourself for later! This vegan world can be pretty overwhelming in beginning, but who doesn’t want a life with fewer mental and physical health issues?

After an amazing 21 day retreat by SHARAN at Swaswara, it's back to the grind... But with rains lashing out got an unexpected break today!

Rainy day special- Instant red jowar dosa, vegetable sambar, potato sabzi, carrot spinach chutney and cucumber tomato corn salad. Everything absolutely divine with no oil, no sugar and no dairy... Unexpected holidays are the best, spent some time making this delish meal, rest and lot of playtime..

Today a pure non vegetarian attended the meat alternative salad class organised by in Thane- just because she wanted to learn something new and secondly the class was on a weekend... She sat through the class with a lot of concentration and questions and to be frank I was a bit nervous that I should be able to impress her... And to my surprise or rather shock at the end of the class during tasting she ate this one particularly- the Asian style salad with 'fish' nuggets, and she exclaimed that these taste just like fish.... 😊😊😊... A huge sigh of relief!!! You don't need to kill a fish to enjoy the taste, a little creativity is enough to satisfy that craving...

Mood plays an integral role in food choices.. You are super happy, you celebrate with unhealthy greasy food and similarly if you sad upset or low on mood, you will sulk and be depressed with again the most unhealthiest food..

I am no exception and I have had worst days... Fried food for celebrations and pizza, icecreams, chocolates and cakes for sad and low days... Food for comfort!!... But since I have started the detox program I have consciously started making better choices and 9/10 times I am successful (which is such an amazing success rate) but that one time too I have tried to make the most of the available options or what would comfort me without really taking me on a guilt trip...

Today was one of those days... Have been really sick the past 3 days,, haven't been able to eat, drink or swallow anything much I would say.. The fever, chills, sweat and cough episodes have been gruesome... Other than water and mangoes I haven't been able to really try anything... So after having an episode of self pity I decided I would have some Pizza to cheer myself (a vegan pizza obviously)

First thought of the regular pizza chains, but then for a fact I know it would not be 100% vegan and definitely not hygienic to have it in this condition... So we have this small pizzeria very close to our house called and the last time I had been there I had the most amazing whole wheat thin crust vegan veggie exzotic pizza...So I ordered the same and to make myself feel better I even got extra veggies put on top... What was most striking of this pizza is its zero nuts.. They used shredded cabbage which resembles cheese with a lot veggies and herbs... Super yummmm....

I actually could keep it down as well as not feel a bit guilty... Keep a few of these options handy.. You never know what may be the need of the hour.. Food for Happiness or Food for Bad Mood!!

I also want to specially mention this they don't use those plastic things like a small stool kind of thing right in the middle of the pizza to hold the slices together and from the lid to touch the pizza... The box is 100% cardboard and I told them not to send the herbs and chili flakes to avoid trash generation and that does have plastic... So in all it was definitely a very good choice and ended as a very good day!!!

It's my passion to conduct cooking workshops. I never thought I would love cooking as much as I do today... Exploring new recipes, trying out new combinations, planning menus... I simply love it all... Some say I am doing too much, over working myself, should take it slow.... But the creativity high I get after finishing a class and immediately planning my next one can't be explained in words... Since joining Sharan India I have conducted more than 100 classes with them and it gives me immense pleasure to do more... I love my work and enjoy it thoroughly!!!

This is a sneak peek of my class today Gluten free one pot summer meals in Ghatkopar with Shah And we had so much fun making the food, teaching as well as serving a delicious meal after class... Heartfelt gratitude to all participants...
