HP and Foxconn have announced a joint venture agreement to create a new line of cloud-optimized servers specifically targeting service providers. The non-equity joint venture, in the form of a strategic commercial agreement, will take effect on May 1.

The new product line will specifically address compute requirements of the world’s largest service providers by delivering low total cost of ownership (TCO), scale, and service and support. The line will complement HP’s existing ProLiant server portfolio, including Moonshot.

Western Digital recently launched its new WD VelociRaptor 1 TB with 10,000 RPM hard drive. It is designed for high-performance desktops, Mac computers and professional workstations which require a balance of high performance and capacity. The product also comes in capacities of 500 GB and 250 GB.
The 2.5-inch hard drive comes in an IcePack enclosure, a 3.5-inch mounting frame with built-in heat sink—a factory customization that fits the drive into a standard 3.5-inch system bay and keeps the drive extra cool when installed in a high-performance desktop or workstation system.
Its other features include SATA 6 GB/s interface and 64 MB cache; it consumes less idle power. In addition to being RoHS-compliant, the VelociRaptor also has a halogen-free design.

HP's New Market Capture Technology...

Inkjets are slowly but surely returning to office spaces in India after being pushed out by laser printers over the past decade or so. Analyst firm Info trends predicts that by 2016, business inkjets can help the overall inkjet market to overtake the laser printer market globally due to their lower costs of printing.

Install

Locate the PlayOnLinux .deb file in your downloads folder, double click the file to open it in Ubuntu Software Centre, then click the 'Install' button.

Install Microsoft Office

1. Open playOnLinux by searching for it in the dash then clicking on the icon:

2. Once open click on the 'Install' button located near the top of the window:

3. A new window will open, click 'Office' then click on the version you will be installing for example 'Microsoft Office 2010' then click install:

5. Locate the setup.exe file, click for more details. (show)

6. Once you have located the 'setup.exe' file and see the screen below click 'Next':

7. PlayOnLinux will now configure itself ready for the install:

கணினி உலகம் மற்றும் இணையத்தில் ஒவ்வொரு நிறுவனமும் தனக்கான இடத்தை தக்கவைத்துக் கொள்ளவும், அதிகமான வாசகர்களை பெறவும் நிறைய வசதிகளை அறிமுகம் செய்வது வழக்கம். அதில் முக்கியமாக தங்கள் படைப்புகளை குறிப்பிட்ட மொழிகளில் தந்து அதிக பயனர்களை பெறுவது.

இதுவரை கூகுள், பேஸ்புக் மற்றும் பல மென்பொருட்கள் அறிமுகமான கொஞ்ச வருடங்களிலேயே இந்த விசயத்தில் அடித்து ஆட, இவர்களுக்கெல்லாம் முன்னோடியான மைக்ரோசாப்ட் கொஞ்சம் தாமதமாக இந்த விஷயத்தை கையில் எடுத்து பல வசதிகளை அதன் பயனர்களுக்கு தந்துள்ளது.

அந்த வகையில் இன்றைய பதிவில் உங்கள் விண்டோஸ் 7 இயங்கு தளம் கொண்ட கணினியை எப்படி தமிழில் பயன்படுத்துவது என்று பார்ப்போம்.

முதலில் இந்த இணைப்பில் (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=a1a48de1-e264-48d6-8439-ab7139c9c14d&displaylang=ta) சென்று தமிழுக்கான விண்டோஸ் 7 மொழி இடைமுகத் தொகுப்பை (Lanugage Interface Pack - LIP) தரவிறக்கம் செய்யுங்கள். 32 பிட் அல்லது 64 பிட் ஏதேனும் ஒன்றை மட்டும். எது என்ற குழப்பத்தில் உள்ளவர்கள் 32 பிட்டை தரவிறக்கம் செய்யவும்.

உங்கள் கணினியில் தரவிறக்கம் ஆன பின்பு, அதை உங்கள் கணினியில் நீங்கள் இன்ஸ்டால் செய்ய வேண்டும்.

Next என்பதை தெரிவு செய்து, பின் அடுத்து வரும் பகுதியில் I Accept the license terms என்பதை தெரிவு செய்து மீண்டும் ஒரு Next, அடுத்து மீண்டும் ஒரு Next, இப்போது தமிழ் மொழி உங்கள் கணினியில் இன்ஸ்டால் ஆகும்.

இன்ஸ்டால் ஆன பின் மீண்டும் Next என்பதை கிளிக் செய்யுங்கள். இப்போது நீங்கள் Display மொழியை தெரிவு செய்ய வேண்டும். அதில் தமிழ் என்பதை தெரிவு செய்து "Apply display language to welcome screen and system accounts" என்பதை கிளிக் செய்து "Change Display Lanugage" என்பதை கிளிக் செய்யுங்கள்.

அவ்வளவு தான் இப்போது உங்கள் கணினியை ஒரு முறை நீங்கள் Restart செய்ய வேண்டும்.

இனி உங்கள் கணினி தமிழில் இயங்க ஆரம்பிக்கும். அனைத்து வசதிகளும், செயல்களும் தமிழில் இல்லாவிட்டாலும் பொதுவான பல விஷயங்கள் தமிழில் இருக்கும்.

இனி ஆங்கிலம் தெரியாதவர்கள் கூட கணினியில் அடிப்படை விசயங்களை செய்ய முடியும்.

மீண்டும் ஆங்கிலத்துக்கு மாற: ஸ்டார்ட் மெனு >> கட்டுப்பாட்டுப் பலகம் >> காட்சி மொழியை மாற்றவும் என்பதை கிளிக் மாற்றலாம். இவ்வாறு வராதவர்கள் கட்டுப்பாட்டுப் பலகம் >> வட்டாரம் மற்றும் மொழி என்பதை கிளிக் செய்து வரும் சிறிய விண்டோவில் "விசைப்பலகைகளும் மொழிகளும்" என்கிற பகுதியில் காட்சி மொழி ஒன்றை தேர்வு செய்யவும் என்பதற்கு கீழே English என்பதை தெரிவு செய்யுங்கள்.

ஆங்கிலத்தில் இருந்து தமிழுக்கு மாற (இன்ஸ்டால் செய்த பின்): Control Panel >> Change Display Language என்பதை கிளிக் மாற்றலாம். இவ்வாறு வராதவர்கள் Control Panel >> Region and Language என்பதை கிளிக் செய்து வரும் சிறிய விண்டோவில் Keyboards and Language என்பதில் Choose a Display Language கீழே தமிழை தெரிவு செய்து கொள்ளலாம்.

Windows 7 மொழி இடைமுகத் தொகுப்பு (LIP) பகுதியாக மொழிமாற்றப்பட்ட பயனர் இடைமுகத்தை Windows 7 -இன் அதிகம் பரவலாக பயன்படுத்தப்பட்ட பகுதிகளுக்காக வழங்குகிறது.

பாஸ்வேர்டை டைப் செய்யவேண்டாம், நினைத்தாலே போதும்!

இணையதளத்தில் இருக்கும் நமது அக்கவுண்டுகளை பாதுகாப்பாக வைக்க பாஸ்வேர்ட் பயன்படுத்தப்படுகிறது, மற்றவருக்கு வெறும் ***** ஆக தெரியும் இந்த பாஸ்வேர்ட் பல முக்கிய விவகாரங்களை பாதுகாக்க பயன்படுகிறது. வளர்ந்து வரும் தொழில்நுட்ப கண்டுபிடிப்பில் தற்போது பாஸ்வேர்டுக்கும் வழி வந்துவிட்டது.

யு.சி.பெர்க்லி ஸ்கூல் (UC Berkeley school of information) என்ற ஆராய்ச்சி மையம், பாஸ்வேர்டை டைப் செய்வதற்குப் பதிலாக மனதில் நினைப்பதன் மூலமே நமது தகவல் தொடர்பினை இயக்க முடியும் என்று கூறுகிறது.

இம்மையத்தின் பேராசிரியர் ஜான் சுவாங், ஜப்பான் நாட்டின் ஒக்கினாவா நகரில் நடைபெற்ற, பதினேழாவது தகவல் பாதுகாப்பு மற்றும் ரகசியக் குறியீடு எழுத்து குறித்த கருத்தரங்கில், இந்த ஆராய்ச்சியின் அறிக்கையை சமர்ப்பித்தார். அவருடைய குழுவினர், ஈஈஜி சென்சார்கள்electroencephalograms (EEGs), புளூடூத் மற்றும் தலையணைக் கருவி உபயோகிப்பதன்மூலம் இதனை நடைமுறைப்படுத்த முடியும் என்பதை அங்கு செயல்படுத்திக் காட்டினார்கள்.

சமீபகாலமாக, ஆராய்ச்சிகளில் பாதுகாப்பு கருதி விஞ்ஞானிகள் இம்முறையை பயன்படுத்துகின்றனர். மற்ற உடற்புள்ளியியல் முறைகள் போலவே, இம்முறையும் சிக்கலான, விலை உயர்வான பயன்பாடுகளைக் கொண்டது. ஆனால் பாதுகாப்பான, துல்லியமான மற்றும் மீண்டும் கையாளக்கூடிய விதத்திலும் அமைந்திருப்பது இம்முறையின் சிறப்புகள் என்பது இந்த ஆராய்ச்சியாளர்களின் கருத்தாக இருக்கிறது.

““Voltage-Induced Switching of Nanoscale Magnetic Tunnel Junctions” எனும் தலைப்பில் நடந்த கருத்தரங்கில் MeRAM பற்றிய தகவல்கள் முதன் முதலில் வெளியிடப்பட்டன.

spin-transfer torque (STT) எனப்படும் மின் காந்த தொழில்நுட்பத்தில் மின்சாரத்தில் உள்ள நகரும் எலெகட்ரான் மூலம் தகவல்களை நினைவாகத்தில்
எழுதும் புதிய முறையை கண்டுபிடித்துள்ளனர்.
