Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis is very confident about multinational companies investing in the state. He said that in the coming years new investment will directly generate 1 lakh jobs and the indirect job generation would be between 2 and 3 lakh.
The CM admitted that Mumbai and Pune were preferred destinations for investors but said that land was not available near these cities. "We are promoting Aurangabad and Mihan (in Nagpur) as investment destinations for primary industries and smaller cities for ancillary units," he added. http://nagpurmihan.com

An abandoned aircraft posing threat to planes landing at Nagpur airport since last 22 years was finally removed on Tuesday. The private jet — a Boeing 720 — was left at the airport in 1991 and was lying there since. The plane belongs to Continental Aviation Private Limited (CAPL), run by former NRI Sam Verma, now based in Betul which is over 100km away from Nagpur. The city's ambitious metro rail project is likely to get a free run in its Reach-1 stretch of the North-South corridor. Only one private building needs to be removed for this stretch and the developer is ready to give up the property for the project subject to proper compensation. Rest of the land and space on which the metro will be constructed is already in possession of government agencies.

A couple of days ago, managing director of Nagpur Metro Rail Corporation Limited (NMRCL) Brijesh Dixit had informed about the plan to acquire a building owned by private persons for the project's Reach-1 stretch. http://napurmihan.com

The proposed plan for the upcoming international airport and cargo hub

*International airport*
To meet the increase in demand of air traffic in India and provide the required world-class infrastructure for the aviation sector, the existing airport of 400 hectares would be expanded to 1364 hectares.

*Special Economic zone*
A new SEZ of 2086 hectares, largest multi-product SEZ in India, would be built along side the airport. Out of 2086 hectares, 1472 hectares would be used by various processing units to be set-up and remaining 614 hectares for service sector unit.
