What is co-processing in waste management?
Co-processing refers to the use of waste materials in industrial processes as alternative fuels or raw material (AFR) to recover energy and material from them. Due to the high temperature in cement kiln, different types of wastes can be effectively disposed without harmful emissions.
The benefits of Co-processing are:
- To conserve natural (non-renewable) resources of energy and materials
- To reduce emissions of greenhouse gases in order to slow global warming and demonstrate a positive impact on integrated environmental indicators, such as the ecological footprint
- To reduce the environmental impacts of the extraction (mining or quarrying), transporting, and processing of raw materials
- To reduce dependence on primary resource markets
- To save landfill space and reduce the pollution caused by the disposal of waste
- To destroy waste completely eliminating potential future liabilities.
Ekatvam is actively involved in supporting Brands and Manufacturers in end to end process starting with collection to disposal of the waste and getting the co processing certificate. This compliance is as mandated by CPCB.
Ekatvam works in all areas of Industrial and Post Consumer waste and we are supported by our PAN India tie-up with cement factories.
