🇨🇦 “If your status expires, you need to go home.” Alberta Premier Danielle Smith has made it clear that international students who do not secure permanent residence or another valid status cannot simply remain in Canada after their authorized stay expires. At the same time, she says Alberta wants more authority to retain graduates with the skills the province actually needs. What does this mean for prospective international students? Studying in Canada does not automatically guarantee permanent residence. Your program choice matters. Your field of study matters. Your location matters. And your plans after graduation should be considered before you even begin your application. This is why choosing a program simply because it is affordable or easy to gain admission into can be risky. A strong study plan should consider your academic background, career goals, PGWP eligibility and current labour market needs. Canada still needs skilled graduates, but the pathways are becoming more targeted and competitive. StudyInCanada

⚠️ PR Cancelled. Ban Issued. Was it because of fake language documents?

Canadian immigration authorities have taken action in cases where applicants submitted fraudulent IELTS or French language test documents. In proven cases, the consequences can include PR cancellation, refusal of applications, misrepresentation findings, and bans from applying for a period of time.

If you’re planning to study, work, or apply for PR in Canada, never submit fake documents or use unauthorized agents. One wrong decision can affect your future for years.

Ontario has just introduced something no other Canadian province has done before.

Under the newly updated Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program — Ontario Workforce Priority Stream — your earnings history is now a scoring factor in your PR application.

Here is what that means in practice:
💰 $70,000 or more in a year — 8 points
💰 $50,000 to $69,999 — 6 points
💰 $30,000 to $49,999 — 4 points
💰 Under $30,000 — 0 points

These points are based on your Notice of Assessment issued by the Canada Revenue Agency in the last 5 years. Why does this matter? Because Ontario is now rewarding people who have been contributing economically — not just those who have the right job title or language score. If you have been working, paying taxes and building your life in Ontario, that history now counts towards your nomination score. And if your earnings have been low — whether due to part time work, underemployment or working in a lower wage occupation — this is a signal to act now before your situation becomes harder to overcome. Follow for more updates like this as they happen.
