Studio Eksaat is a Branding and Communication Design studio based out of New Delhi. Founded in 2011 by Dhritiman Deb Pillai and Samira Gupta, Studio Eksaat aims to fill the gap between design and process. Over the past 10 years, we have worked with clients on mid to large scale as well as boutique projects offering insight driven design solutions wh

ich are thoughtful, innovative and well researched. We follow a process driven and immersive approach in our work and take time to get to know our clients and their brands. Inspired by the raw, imperfect nature of homemade pickles, the packaging uses expressive lino-cut style illustrations paired with sharp typography and vibrant colour blocking to create a system that feels tactile, messy, and full of character. The result is a distinctly modern identity with an unmistakable Indian sensibility, balancing craft, flavour, and strong shelf presence across the range.

The identity for Thavi draws directly from the meaning of its name, a ladle or serving spoon in Malayalam, transforming a familiar kitchen object into a distinctive typographic gesture. The custom wordmark subtly integrates the curved form of the ladle within the typography, creating an identity that feels both rooted in regional memory and contemporary in expression. Balancing sharp serif forms with fluid curves, the system reflects the brand’s approach to traditional food made with bold flavour, craft, and modern sensibility.
