Delhi based Nonprofit organization Center for Social Research celebrated the forthcoming Women’s Day by holding a walk-a-thon participated by around 200 women across class and other social identities. Supported by a number of other organizations including Breakthrough, CEQUIN, Action India, PowHer, Angaja Foundation, and CEHRO India the ‘Walk-a-Thon’ was organized to raise awareness about the significance of women’s leadership in politics & administration.
Around 200 women both young and old walked around 3 to 4 kms starting from CSR’s office and streets of Vasant Kunch raising slogans demanding end to gender inequality, complete participation in decision making process, 50% reservation in Parliament among others.
Founded by Dr. Ranjana Kumari in 1983, CSR is one of India’s oldest NGOs working towards violence free gender-just society with capacity building, social research and advocacy.
