SAMS is partnering with Pure Earth to recruit a Program Manager (Consultant) based in Nepal.
Pure Earth is a global environmental-health nonprofit working with governments, communities, researchers, industry and other partners to reduce toxic pollution, particularly lead and mercury, and protect vulnerable communities.
The organisation is building its programme in Nepal to address lead exposure and other toxic pollution risks through stronger assessment, mitigation, monitoring, prevention and policy responses.
Reporting to the Regional Director, Asia, the Program Manager will lead programme planning and delivery, working with Pure Earth teams, technical experts and partners to develop and implement a high-quality country programme suited to the Nepal context.
Key responsibilities include:
• Leading programme strategy, work planning, budgeting, resource allocation and delivery
• Engaging government agencies to advance regulatory solutions and policies on toxic-metal management
• Coordinating source-analysis studies, response plans and exposure-mitigation activities
• Leading monitoring, evaluation and data collection to strengthen learning, effectiveness and reporting
• Building partnerships across government, research institutions, industry, civil society and communities
Applicants should bring 10–15 years of experience managing large-scale, multi-stakeholder programmes, with strong government engagement, institutional coordination and field implementation experience. A Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Public Health or a related field is required, together with relevant environmental or public health programme experience, preferably relating to lead pollution, contaminated sites or food-related exposure risks.
Professional fluency in English, working knowledge of Nepali and/or other relevant local languages, authorisation to work in Nepal, and willingness to travel are essential.
