The Government of Assam is advancing one of India’s most ambitious community-level clean cooking initiatives. Across the state, 9,400 Model Anganwadi Centres are being prepared for transition to clean cooking solutions, directly impacting 27 lakh+ beneficiaries, including children, mothers, and adolescent girls.

Celebrating World Environment Day 2026 with a shared vision for a cleaner, greener future.

Finovista was proud to set up a Clean Cooking Technology Showcase at the World Environment Day Workshop organised by the Department of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of Uttar Pradesh.

We were deeply honoured by the visit of Hon’ble Shri Yogi Adityanath Ji, who visited the Finovista stall, interacted with our team, and showed keen interest in the role of clean cooking technologies in supporting sustainable development across Uttar Pradesh. We extend our sincere gratitude to him for his encouragement and support towards climate action and clean energy initiatives. We also thank and for their valuable support as knowledge partners, and appreciate technology partners and manufacturers including , , , Smith Cucina, and others for showcasing innovative clean cooking solutions.

The showcase featured a range of clean cooking technologies including induction cookstoves, infrared cookstoves, curved infrared cookstoves, electric pressure cookers, air fryers, solar cookstoves, and other modern energy cooking solutions.

More than a technology display, the Finovista stall served as a vibrant platform for knowledge exchange. Through engaging conversations, informative banners, visual displays, and live demonstrations, visitors explored the environmental, health, and livelihood benefits of clean cooking while learning about pathways for a just and sustainable energy transition.

We look forward to working closely with stakeholders across Uttar Pradesh to accelerate the adoption of clean cooking solutions and support the state’s journey towards a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable future.

The future of strategic energy has been at the forefront of discussions during the event jointly organized by Finovista and Chintan Research Foundation (CRF), in partnership with Manthan an initiative of the Office of the Principal Scientific Advisor to the Government of India.

The session emphasized how Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) can deliver secure, sustainable and uninterrupted power for defence manufacturing, critical infrastructure and India's rapidly expanding data economy, driving the nation towards a more resilient future. The event served a platform where domain experts expressed their views and possible roadmap of SMR for the country. The Policy Dialogue has been widely accepted and applauded for brainstorming on a very relevant and just topic.

Finovista was pleased to serve as the Knowledge Partner for CSR Synergies 2026 hosted by Sharda University, Greater Noida under the theme “Innovations for Social Impact.”

The conference convened leaders from CSR, industry, startups, investors, academia, NGOs, and the wider innovation ecosystem to discuss collaborative pathways for sustainable and inclusive development.

Mr. Krishna kumar Sinha, Advisor – Finovista, participated as a panelist in the session on “CSR for Innovation,” moderated by Dr. Parul Saxena. The discussion highlighted the increasing role of CSR in enabling innovation ecosystems, scaling impact-driven solutions, and strengthening cross-sector partnerships.
Finovista was also honoured with a Recognition for Outstanding Contribution towards Social Impact and Sustainable Development, reaffirming our commitment to innovation-led and sustainability-focused initiatives.

From micro-entrepreneurs like tea stall owners and fried snack vendors to home-based food enterprises and roadside carts, India’s street food ecosystem supports millions of livelihoods every day.

But rising LPG prices, fuel insecurity, heat stress, smoke exposure, and operational costs are making everyday cooking increasingly challenging for many vendors.

These realities formed the core of a successful discussion conducted today during the Talk Series 4.11, titled “Electric Cooking for Street Food Vendors: Evidence from Field Deployment and Business Implications”, organised by the Modern Energy Cooking Services (MECS programme) through Finovista on May 14th, 2026.

Key Takeaways from the Session:
🔷India’s street food ecosystem supports millions of livelihoods, making cleaner and more efficient cooking solutions increasingly important.
🔷Rising LPG prices, fuel insecurity, and dependence on flame-based cooking fuels are accelerating interest in electric cooking alternatives for commercial food enterprises.
🔷Vendors increasingly used electric cooking devices as additional burners during peak business hours, helping improve operational efficiency & customer servicing.
🔷88% of vendors reported saving at least one LPG cylinder per month, while 71% achieved net monthly savings and 75% reported income increases linked to improved cooking efficiency and reduced heat exposure.
🔷International insights from Kenya highlighted the continued prevalence of fuel stacking practices, while also demonstrating opportunities for encouraging electricity use through tariff innovation & off-peak incentives.
🔷Women-led grassroots networks, self-help group financing, local demonstrations, and community-based clean cooking champions were highlighted as important enablers for scaling electric cooking adoption.
🔷Manufacturers emphasised the importance of affordable appliance design, compatibility with existing cooking practices, trusted certification systems, and user confidence-building for long-term adoption.
