SGArchitects The formal establishment of SGArchitects (SGA) occurred in May 2006. SGA and its team has more than eight years' experience in Sustainable Urban Transport

SGA and its team has more than eight years' experience in Sustainable Urban Transport as well Urban Design projects, including planning and design of infrastructure and operations of Public Bus systems, public spaces including pedestrian infrastructure, planning and design of Non-motorized Transport (NMT)infrastructure and research in sustainable urban transport (both non motorised and public tran

sport). SGA brings together expertise in both design and transportation planning and has extensive experience in bus based public infrastructure planning and design, conducting stakeholder participatory process, as well development of design development and evaluation guidelines and toolkits. SGA has worked with IUT, MoUD and Centres of Excellence (CoE), and has sound understanding of current status of sustainable urban transport in India, current policy framework, its limitation and potentials, etc. Our work and projects focus on (apart from other sustainable urban transport issues) eliminating conflicts and increasing efficiency at the interface between commuters and bus based public transport systems. Experience in Developing Design Guidelines
SGA has extensive experience in developing detailed planning/design development as well auditing guidelines and toolkits. SGA assisted in development 'Bicycle Infrastructure Design Manual for Indian Subcontinent' (SUTP document); Development of Urban Road Codes, for IUT and MoUD; Development of Cycling infrastructure Design Guidelines (developed at TRIPP, IIT Delhi); Development of Bus Rapid Transit System Design Guidelines (developed at TRIPP, IIT Delhi); and UTTIPEC street design guidelines. In addition SGA has developed the BRTS Evaluation and Design (BEAD) Tool for IUT and Cycling Infrastructure level of service evaluation (CyLOS) tool. The development of both these tools were funded by Shakti Sustainable Energy Foundation. Experience in Conducting Stakeholder (Participatory) Workshops

SGA has extensive experience in conducting stakeholder (participatory) workshops required as an integral part of toolkit and guideline development process. SGA has conducted four city workshops for BEAD tool training and user feedback gathering. In addition SGA has initiated four more city workshops (in association with CSMR) for gathering feedback and inputs on CyLOS tool. SGA has also conducted two workshops as a part of BEAD tool development process, where inputs and feedbacks were gathered from different experts and stakeholders at two key development stages. In addition SGA has been a part of conducting and organising stakeholder workshops as a part of the NMT guideline development process. Experience in Developing Pedestrian and Public Transport Infrastructure Design

SGA has extensive experience in developing designs public spaces, pedestrian infrastructure and bus based public transport infrastructure projects. Such projects include Nehru Place Placemaking project which included bus terminal design for DTC (a Shakti Sustainable Energy Foundation funded project); BRTS planning, design and implementation (including both infrastructure and operations; Bus system service and operational planning (undertaken as study to develop bus based airport shuttle service); design and implementation of bus station designs (including bus station designs developed for Delhi during Common Wealth Games for DTC and those developed for BRTS corridors); and, design development of three bus Depots in Jharkhand (under JnNURM).

Average bus speed comparison graph submitted by GNCTD to high court in 2012, showing bus speed improvement with BRT (in blue) vs. no BRT situation (in red), using data from 1000 trips made by GPS fitted buses on Delhi BRT corridor. BRT leads to 40 to 50% speed improvement of buses. In comparison CRRI report submitted to the court used a total of 18 bus trip data, in some cases comparing with an average of 1. No wonder the court raised apprehensions on CRRI numbers.

Ravish Kumar (NDTV) to a bus driver- Kya khush hain BRT se 'Aap'... (Where Aap is the bus driver not any party) and Bus driver replies: Ji Khush hain sabhi khush hain!!! it is definitely beneficial for buses....Then from where the question of scrapping BRTS arises and where the city of Delhi heading towards ..Surely its serious matter of concern..!!!!!!!! Politically & Logically....it is time to Delhi should rethink.. ki "Kya khush hain BRT se 'Aap..? " ... I request all to see this and express your views on this...
