What does the wardrobe of a 10, 12, 14 year old girl look like? (4 photos)
Wardrobes of different age groups vary due to many reasons. Primarily, as a girl grows up, her exposure to different styles and trends around the world gets broader and her desire to stand out from the crowd increases. Also, being an urban girl, the variety of high street fashion catering to girls and women’s clothing has now started stocking the world’s latest trends, allowing each age group to look and dress their best.
However, depending on the girl’s social circle and parental intervention, each girl’s wardrobe looks very different. A girl with a more liberal background will wear more tank tops, crop tops and hot shorts whereas a girl with conservative values would choose to wear clothes longer in length such as jeans and normal t-shirts.

Bad haircuts and bad hair days! We are talking about rat tails, spikey cuts, cobra cuts and more directly from the horse's mouth.
Bad haircuts and bad hair days! We are talking about rat tails, spikey cuts, cobra cuts and more directly from the horse's mouth.

You remember those really bad haircuts of the mid 80s where you would cut your hair in the back so that it hung down in a single line meant to resemble an actual rat's tail. You remember those really bad haircuts of the mid 80s where you would cut your hair in the back so that it hung down in a single line meant to resemble an actual rat's tail.

We decided that it wasn't supposed to be the worst hair cut prevalent. So we sent our men out, all out to get a totally new cut. The barber educated them about the latest cuts in vogue and our men informed us about the same leveraging this digital network.

In no time, we learnt the local vocabulary, why a particular haircut is the most popular and how the barber influences styles and trends.

The verbal communication, the tongues used, the idioms presented along with the latest 'ishtyles' helped us grasp and understand the category vocabulary.

An evolution of mobile ethnography, allows us to capture real time needs and emotions at specific locations. Plus we can use technology to meet consumers wherever they are in their 'natural habitats' rather than in a research facility.

We believe that clients value the benefits of getting all internal stakeholders on the same page and sometimes of collaborating with external audiences, experts and consumers. Our analysis ensures that we harness heterogeneous input and generate ideas which stand up to close scrutiny.

A new mom in the house.

Assuming for a moment that our media reflects/ impacts our reality.

A quick glance at some of the iconic movies of the last decade and their female protagonists.

We find a girl/woman who is

Independent in her thinking & has a point of view & has a high sense of self worth (almost every actress)
Is imperfect and not just an embodiment of virtue -angry/broken relationships/running away from home to find her way of life (Preity in Kal Ho Na Ho, Preity in Dil Chahta Hai )
Used to being romanced and seeks the same (Kareena in K3G, Ameesha in Kaho Na Pyar Hai, Bipasha in Raaz)
Is more girl(self) than mother, wife etc.(role)- In fact the mother narrative is quasi absent at a macro level
Stylish and image conscious (Ash in Dhoom 2, )
Progressive in her thinking (true for all)
Comfortable in her skin /choices even when they are not mainstream (Bipasha in Raaz, Preity in Salaam Namaste, Rani in Bunty Bubli, Ash in Dhoom2)

Now imagine this woman as a young mum or a new mum around 27-28 who grew up on this mental fodder as a frame of reference.

As a mum she is not
Wanting to move up the evolution ladder and become MATRONLY - Rather seeking a GIRL’S VERSION OF
PARENTING
Not wanting to be a 24*7 parent /mum – her shopping trips, marathon girly phone calls are moments of freedom
from mommy duties
Willing to give up on the attention of her man – worried about figure/husband’s focus shifting from her to kids
Not wanting to be engaged in chores that remind her that her life is all about duties & chores
