Have you ever wondered why we celebrate Navratri for nine nights?

The story goes beyond colourful clothes, Garba, Dandiya and festive celebrations. It is a celebration of the power of the Divine Mother and the triumph of good over evil.

According to Hindu tradition, the festival is associated with Goddess Durga’s battle against the buffalo demon Mahishasura. After a fierce battle, Goddess Durga defeated him, symbolising the victory of righteousness over evil.

But why nine nights? 🌙

Each night honours the Divine Feminine, worshipped in different forms of Goddess Durga. Together, these nine forms represent courage, wisdom, strength, devotion and protection.

🌺 Faith — seeking the blessings of the Divine Mother.

🔥 Strength — remembering that courage can overcome even the greatest challenges.

🙏 Transformation — letting go of negativity and welcoming positive change.
