Customer Consignment in SAP SD 📦
Customer Consignment is one of those SAP SD processes that is easier to understand when you relate it to a real business situation.
In simple words, the company sends goods to the customer’s location, but the ownership of those goods still remains with the company. The customer is billed only when the goods are actually consumed or sold.
The process has 4 main steps:
KB – Consignment Fill-Up → Goods are sent to the customer.
KE – Consignment Issue → Customer consumes the goods and billing becomes relevant.
KA – Consignment Pick-Up → Unused goods are taken back.
KR – Consignment Return → Previously issued goods are returned.
For SAP SD learners, understanding the movement of stock, ownership and billing is much more important than simply memorizing transaction types.
This is the kind of process knowledge that helps you understand real-time SAP SD scenarios better.
