The Start Up India Scheme was initiated by the Government of India back in January 2016 that aims at promoting different startups that, in turn, assists in generating employment, surging the economic state of the country. The Startup India initiative focuses on areas such as simplification and hand holding, funding support and incentives, and industry-academia partnership and incubation.

The start up scheme offers various incentives. Such as:
1) The eligible, startups with turnover up to Rs.100 million are allowed deduction of 100% of its profits for three consecutive assessment years out of 10 years.
2) Capital Gains Tax exemption
3) Up to 80% rebate on patent costs
4) Simplified registration process
5) Priority in Government tenders.
6) Protection of intellectual property

There are various other schemes which are aimed at reducing the regulatory burden on Startups, thereby allowing them to focus on their core business and keep compliance costs low.
